Guidelines for Temporary Storage of Car Seats
Guidelines for Use of the Common House Foyer for Temporary Car Seat Storage
As parents of young children, we have found the CH foyer (i.e., the space just within the coded door where the carts are stored) to be a useful, secure, and clean place to transfer and store car seats. For example, babysitters or grandparents come mid-day and pick up car seats prior to picking up children from school or day care. Or a family with 1 or 2 children has an extra car seat to use for
transporting a neighbor’s child, and having it fulltime in the family’s car conflicts with other uses of the car.
We commit:
- To clearly label all stored car seats with the owner’s name
- To remove car seats when a Common House event requires use of the foyer
- To use the space in a prudent way — meaning, for example, to avoid deserting car seats that our children have outgrown or that we have a very low likelihood of using again.
- To remove seats when they will not be used for 2 weeks or more.
- To store the seats along the North wall.
Parents will take responsibility for reminding each other of this agreement.
